#46I have an issue with anyone who wants to dispute this. Tell me another athlete more deserving and I'll ponder your choice, but Lebron has always been that dude. Role model, Bball extrodinaire, NBA Icon, Winner. I'm actually getting a little fed up with all the anti-lebron rhetoric. Choice is a no-brainer imo.Comment -

#47Harden had a much better year. The crazy thing is Chris Jones is arguably man of the year and he did not even make the pro bowl. 15.5 sacks, a pick 6 and great against the run.Comment -

#49Originally posted by QuantumLeapThey gave the women's award to Serena Williams for losing 2 majors. Simona Halep actually won one and lost the finals of another major but the angle on Serena is that she did it after having a kid.
Understand that these sportswriters are not too sharp. They have a history of giving out stupid awards.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#52And the Serena one was worse. The AP's explanation focused on her returning as a Mum after a hard delivery and afterbirth and reaching the final in two Slams. I adore her and always have and this totally isn't her fault as she obviously doesn't choose the winner but a gazillion parents have faced that and return to work and kick arse. And that's with no help or maybe they're a single parent or they have a child or partner who needs a bit more care and/or attention. Most with nowhere near the money she has.
These awards are whoreshit. Take them for what they areComment -

Lebron barely has this Laker team playing over .500 ball this year, racist rants, not league leading stats, etc.. Not that impressive..http://www.espn.com/nba/statisticsComment -

#55Originally posted by pavyracerThey are making a mockery of the awards. My daughters are forbidden from watching Serena play tennis. I spent countless hours to teach them to respect the umpires and referees when they play softball and soccer and here she goes on national TV trying to destroy 10 years of parenting. And they reward her with an award for that childish, no disrepect to children, behavior.
Then you could tell the that it works that way sometimes in the workplace as well. Someone will get a job or a raise who isn't necessarily the best person for the job. Instead they are ass-kissers who get the job or maybe they get the job based upon their identity rather than talent.Comment -

#60Originally posted by pavyracerThat's not the point. Give it to Kevin Durant or Mookie Betts. They won a title. The award should not go to who has the best contract in the NBA and fails to win the championship.
Maybe not to you but it is to most when reading through the thread. Given their post history.Comment -
