They are thinking about the next play, how much they hate their wife, which chick they are going to bang after the game, why Jamal didn’t run out of bounds 2 plays ago, why Marshawn missed an easy pass at the 5 yard line. Too much going on. They need a guy like me in their ear. “Hey dickhead let the clock go to 2 seconds and call a timeout, then do a Hail Mary before halftime”. Prime example end of first half in Troy game. But this takes place almost every game.

Also need someone to hammer home the concept of "time and place", i.e. game situation. See it at all levels, 3rd down and guy is 2 yds from a first down and decides to stop and juke, inevitably losing yds. Dumbass qb for Memphis did it numerous times today. Third and 4, late in game. Pressured out of the pocket, rolls left, 10+ yards open field, decides to summon his inner Fran Tarkenton running around in circles and takes a sack. Totally clueless. Fundamentals are at an all time low across the board, college and pro. Probably makes me a dumbass for betting on it
