welcome to 6 months ago...Oakland picked him in 1st round and gave him ~5 million signing bonus. Probably a smart decision long term for Murray, longer career and less injuries most likely.

Saw a prop line that said something like this
-300 start a baseball game first
+200 throw a nfl td first

Not anything new...Charlie Ward won the Heisman in ‘93 and never played in the NFL. Drafted by the Knicks and played basketball

I agree if you can make it, baseball is good for two decades of $G money.
Such a coup for the Heisman winner to not even be draft eligible

now they can sell tua all of 2019, more of the reason for the snub. they knew this was murray's last year now you have an even more determined and focused tua and theyll generate more revenue from the hype campaign. every week theyll flash his numbers, media love to build up and if he crashes theyll be right there to sell those tickets to watch him burn

Longer career in baseball. Only play in nice weather. Don't get sacked. No CTE.

longer career, guaranteed contracts, MUCH lower risk of turning your brain into mashed potatoes....given the choice it's really an easy call

This is not breaking news, it has been the plan all along. Murray was ninth pick of MLB Draft, choosing baseball over football is a no-brainer when someone is good at both from a financial perspective.

The only arguement would be he would make more than 5 million on his first NFL contract.
Its always possible he flames out in baseball and never makes it to the big leagues.

Longtime bench players still make millions in MLB and contracts are guaranteed, unlike NFL.

And if it looks like he will be career minor leaguer, he could always try going back to football in a couple of years.
