The issue wasn't punting, the punt was fuking horible, if Oklahoma is pinned in the 10 they go into the half with no points.

Maybe. But how much faith you have in your punter? He shanked the one punt earlier in the game he was trying to pin them. Either run the clock out or be aggressive, but don't be aggresive and then punt the ball from their 40 on 4th and 11. Stupid.

When Texas had 2nd and 25 all they had to do.... with OU having no timeouts.... was run the ball 2nd and 3rd down.... and punt with 20 seconds left instead of a minute

they are dumb AF

now down at half and OU gets ball first instead of being up 1

End of the first half always dictates momentum coming out of the 2nd half, so dumb to give Oklahoma the ball with a minute left, Texas could have run or thrown a short pass on 2nd down and ensured Oklahoma didn't even get the ball.

Punters' inability to place the ball near the goal line (NFL included) is laughable. How many times do we see them not just miss the field of play but land it 8 yards deep in the end zone? Ball gets brought out to the 25 and the net yardage gain is like 15 yards. If the QB were to throw a 15 yard interception everyone would be talking about what a "game changing" play it was but these crappy punt plays happen numerous times a game and no one says a word.

I just can't believe that a punter can't learn to at least stick the ball at the 10. Put some loft on it and it will have to be a fair catch EVERY time. I suppose I can understand it a bit more in college but there's absolutely no excuse for this in the NFL.

Texas should play 4 down football on every possession now and never punt.. Probably their only chance.. Blitz every down on D, go for every 4th down on Offense..
