Texas State AD Larry Teis had to be escorted from a meeting and then out of the building after things got heated with players. Local media are still trying to confirm details, but they have verified that Teis was indeed removed for his own safety.
Here is a player parent account of what occurred:
"So when Teis met with the team to tell them about letting Withers go apparently it didn't go to well for him. My son said that the players called him out. Teis told the players "I love you guys, each and everyone in here." That was the wrong thing to say. It got very heated and some of the players almost fought Teis. A team captain asked him, "how can you liv us when you don't even know us or care about us?" He then asked Teis "who am I?" & Teis didn't even know his name, then another asked "who am I?" When Teis couldn't answer they became angry to the point where Coach Antione just asked Teis to leave and had to escort him out of the building."
