I have alcohol with my dad when I was 14 years old. It helps not to become a drunk in high school with friends and do stupid things like Kavanaugh did when he wasn't allowed to drink alcohol with his parents.

I started drinking wine at about 11 or 12 with my family. My grandfather made wines and had a distillery. A glass of wine a day is known to have medicinal value. All the kids had hotty toddy's when they were coming down with a cold. Tea, lemons and whiskey usually knocked it out. I had my first taste of grain alcohol around 14. Horrible. Those experiences most likely kept me grounded around alcohol and I've never had a big taste for hard liquor. Why is this even news? It is perfectly legal in Texas to serve your kids alcohol in your presence and at restaurants. I'm pretty sure it's legal in most states.
