    Tex Winter, a former college basketball coach and assistant for NBA championship teams with the Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers, dies at 96.


    Fred "Tex" Winter, basketball innovator and member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, died Wednesday. He was 96.


    Winter is known as the mastermind of the famed triangle offense that helped win a combined nine NBA championships during his tenure as an assistant coach under Phil Jackson with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.

                  Can't live forever.. 96 is a long life.. Seems like he didn't lose his mind at any point during his advanced age either.. That's a gift!!!!

                  Nothing worse then losing your mind and memory when aged.. My biggest fear!!!! I'd rather die before that happens...
