Don't expect too much meat yet-- it's very preliminary, and other offenses dominate-- but overall looks huge.

A massive corruption scandal engulfed Belgian soccer on Wednesday when authorities carried out 57 police raids in the country and around Europe in a probe into financial fraud and match-fixing.

The money is so huge in soccer.. . Even with match fixing and corruption if you not betting this sport you are completely lost.

Yah, and huge is an understatement.
Bettors who take advantage of this are those of a suspicious nature & alert to general standings / trap situations, who generally gravitate to underdogs and alternate lines...and who also supplement or hedge initial wager @ in-game.

Here a secret nobody talks about.. The biggest problem is not corruption or match fixing . The biggest threat that coming is QUANTUM COMPUTERS

These computers will be able know final score so accurately because of quantum mechanics of a particle being at 2 places at the same time.

Will happen more often, I think College players should get paid something, my buddy was a center and long snapper at Boise and the restrictions they had ...etc... had them living in poverty .... creating desperation ..... For example stolen ATT vouchers would get passed through the team so people could call home .... they had diff rackets going on within the team to save players money. 2 sides to the story I would guess

If you get a free hour, this video is pretty good

"Soccer matches intentionally lost, irregular penalties, bribes paid to players and referees -- match fixing is now seen as a major threat to the integrity of sports, and especially soccer. The annual revenue from betting on sports is estimated to be around 200 billion euros worldwide. With so much money changing hands, sports betting has become an obvious target for organized crime. The gambling mafia has manipulated soccer matches in countries around the world, ranging from matches at the international level to the Champions League and even 19-and-under youth leagues. Many of the illegal betting operations are run by gambling houses based in Asia. Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore are at the center of global illegal betting and match-fixing syndicates. A single match can often involve millions of euros in illegal wagers, even among lesser-known clubs in Germany's regional leagues. Our report reveals the impact the gambling mafia is having on matches and players in the world's most popular sport."

Most of the gambling in soccer is not done at legitimate books. Billions change hands in underground betting.

It’s an easy way to make money, the only way to stop match fixing is to make sports betting illegal and even then there would be some underground betting service. Over here in Europe you can literally bet on anything in a game.

Dont know this is necessarily true. Hustlers can bet on internet or with illegal bookies.Don't recall problems with sportfixers and sports teams in Nevada.
