Frankfurt had a meteoric rise into D1 Football in Germany. Manager Niko Kovac was hailed as a hero and the next great soccer mind to create such magic with limited funds. Bayern Munich were so impressed with his work that they hired him away in the off season ( beating Bayern in The German Cup Final certainly helped his cause ). With Bayern's recent form in demise, the jury is still out on how well , or long , Kovac's career at Bayern will be. After a slow start with a new system , a new manager, and plenty of additional football to play this season , Eintracht Frankfurt are started to find their stride again. They beat Lazio in Europa 4 - 1 at home just prior to the International break , and play at home to Apollon on Thursday. The only down side to tomorrows game against Fortuna Dusseldorf is that key midfielder Rebic of Croatia is out due to a red card. Dusseldorf are mired in the relegation zone where they are very likely to end up once the season ends. They are a newly promoted side that is finding the going very difficult with a small market budget at their disposal ( last among D1 sides at approx. $39 mill ). Their woes should continue against a team that will compete for a top 4 spot this season.

Both teams need a win in order to keep pace with Juventus and man U. A loss would essentially eliminate either team from advancing from the Group. Young Boys were the door mat of the group when the draw was made and have lived up to all predictions so far. A pair of 3 - 0 losses at home to Man U and away to Juventus has put this game in the " must win " category. Valencia were supposed to be a top 4 or 5 side in Spain this year, but the young Portugese signing Guedes ( out injured ) has been a huge bust with zero goals to show for this campaign , and the team is in danger of falling into the relegation zone in Spain. They had a decent outing at Old Trafford with a scoreless draw , and should be able to beat Young Boys when all the dust is settled.

This game has Goals Goals Goals written all over it. Both teams are very comfortable in attack and prefer a 4 - 3 - 3 formation , Ajax at home and Benfica anywhere. With 2 defenders on the shelf for Benfica ( Dias due to a red and Jardel injured ) and defender Tagliatico for Ajax. Defender Grinaldo is also a question mark for Benfica , so they will be pressed to get him in tomorrows line up. Ajax have scored 3 or more in 6 straight home games while Benfica have scored 2 or more in 6 straight road games. The only thing that may hinder a real BLOWOUT wager on the over is the weather forecast that may have some rain and 34km winds by game time. Ajax have been on an amazing run this season, and should beat Benfica , but at even money the over looks to be the play.
