They used to push that here as well but I think they’ve stopped foe the most part. Some older docs still doing it but most younger guys stopped

Happy birthday citizen. Please post us back a sample of your poo.

I came up positive and never would have taken the test otherwise so like the idea of 100% of people chased to do it directly.

Theres no denying that it catches colon cancer in some people.

I think looking at the evidence though on a grand scale what it shows is that more people end up having borderline results, undergo procedures that end up being negative but suffer complicatioons from the procedure.

So the push in medicine right now is actually less is more. Im a big fan of it ideologically and think best practice is to follow the evidence.

Not that long ago I was taking care of a guy getting his heart checked out because of some vague complaints of chest pain and an inconclusive stress test, so he had an angiogram. Ended up having a major stroke during the procedure. His heart arteries were perfectly normal.

Thats anecdotal but sums up what the evidence is showing. Less routine testing because docs tend to do more, so if a lab test result comes back as borderline they send their patients for procedures and expose them to those risks.
Glad it workd out for you though, a lot of people in your camp

Actually that was also my experience.

Had a colonospocy and was cleared, but they cut off some polops they said.

And.. had to have it done twice. Thye over dosed me on the anisthetic first time (last thing friday afternoon job) and I ended up throwing up whilst under and caused a panic.

But worse had to come back to do it again, and they wanted to use a general anesthetic the second time due to the danger of thrwoing up again but when I went in for an assessment the anesthesiologist looked at what they did the first time, and surprisingly told me she was shocked how much they gave me and thought I was better not to move to a general for 2nd one.

So I guess, you are right. Pretty much described my experience.
