LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — An outbreak of flea-borne typhus has hit downtown Los Angeles, the county Department of Public Health said Thursday.

Health officials say they are investigating several cases of flea-borne typhus, a disease that infected fleas can spread to humans. While the fleas can come from cats, rats, and opossums, pets and animals do not get sick from typhus.

(CNN) A rise in typhus, a bacterial disease spread by lice or fleas, has hit the Los Angeles area, and public health officials are sounding the alarm.

As of Monday, there have been 57 cases of flea-borne typhus in Los Angeles County, the county Department of Public Health said.

Downtown LA has a bunch of diseases festering.. We had a Hep-A virus breakout where a State of Emergency was declared among the homeless over the past year.. Diseases start with the dirty homeless people shitting and pissing everywhere and on the sidewalks where they set up their tents.. It's all disgusting filth... Only gonna bread more diseases...
