I would never sign a player if Scott Boras is their agent.

Dude .249 was one season. He is 25 he has not even hit the prime of his career yet and career wise is .279. Plus he knew all along last year that it was his last in a Nats uniform no sense in going all out to rake .320 and potentially get hurt when he will get every penny he is asking for. Bryce Harper is the future of Major League Baseball.

Lmfao at “the future”. Staring pitching and pens win championships combined with team friendly controllable players and the kind of hitters Boston has who can take quality ab’s working counts, going to opposite field, wearing pitchers down! Not some punk kid who swinging for the fences. So happy cards went and got goldy instead of trying to pay this jerkoff. Trout is 10x better than Harper and his team don’t win shit!!

Harper not the future he gonna become another cautionary tail why paying some punk kid a mega deal will never put your team over the top. Teams already skeptical as he still hasn’t gotten a deal!!

And if there any validity to your redic claim he held back cause he shouldn’t risk it (I believe that beyond garbage) then he ain’t worth the paper the contract be written on!!!

"Punk kid" he is LDS. He is prob the furthest thing from a punk kid off the field we will ever see in his position. His career is just starting I hate to break it to everybody. What happened up to this point is irrelevant going forward. He def will be the face of baseball also.

                    Come on
                    He's batted 260's and 270's several other years .
He isn't worth anywhere near 30M much less 40M

He's a .280 career hitter at 25 wtf would you like? Also I hate to break it to you but Slipknot is weakest shit ive ever seen or heard. Try some Cryptopsy or Deeds of Flesh, guys that actually can play which will prob be way too technical for you if you like gay drop D tuning slipknot. My god their singers clean vocals are right up there with joey vigs avatar.

Seriously go look up Cryptopsy or Deeds of Flesh guys that lay f\*g Slipknot to waste that dont make nearly as much $ and your gonna come complain about Bryce Harpers asking price? You guys ever heard of ROI? You think an mlb franchise gives a shit about spending that money over 10 years when it will get them countless TV deals and other endorsements for whatever park he plays in? C'mon this is America teams are licking their cjoos to have him.

While I totally agree with banker here, I also see him having a few great mvp caliber seasons under two conditions.

                          1) Harper REQUIRES protection in the lineup. Whenever he struggles it’s because there is not another bat in front or behind him to force pitchers to throw him strikes. His best seasons came only when Rendon, Zimmerman and Daniel Murphy provided protection in the lineup.

                          2) TROUBLE with the curve and off speed pitches. I think my biggest beef with Haprers hitting is his inability to go opposite field. It takes two seconds to go on fangraphs and find proof of his struggles with curves and change ups. It’s no coincidence his best seasons came under Matt Williams who almost certainly taught him how to slow his bat down to handle the off speed. For whatever reason Harper hasn’t been able to carry over this over after Williams left.
