Do Any of the Sportsbooks Run a Numbers Game?
Visited my dad this weekend for NFL Sunday and we were shooting the breeze while the games were on. He asked about how online sports betting worked so I showed him a couple of the online books and explained how they work (also explaining how Bitcoin works). Aside from asking me to place a couple prop bets for him, one of the questions he asked was if they run a numbers game. I know 5Dimes lets you play Pick 3/Pick 4 through them using any state lottery draw with the benefit being better payouts than the state, but I have not heard of any books running their own numbers game like what my dad had in mind.

I posted about this before, but when he was working, there was a local numbers game he liked to play where you would pay $10-$20 per ticket depending on the game. You would pick 10 numbers based off of what you could play in the state's lotto game. After a couple weeks of selling tickets, they'd stop sales and start the drawing. The winning numbers would come from the state's lotto drawings (basically it played like a cross between Keno and Bingo). The game would go until someone had all 10 of their numbers drawn, which would take several drawings before you had a winner. Winner got a $25k-$40k payout based on sales with it being usually $50k+ during the holidays. One of his coworkers hit it for around $30k and was paid by the runner by cash in a McDonald's bag (talk about a happy meal).

So with that story told, does anyone know of any online books that run any numbers games like that?

A lot of the players were city workers, which would make it easy to reach in the thousands (not to mention the residuals if they had their friends and family members playing, etc).

I figured there was one still in the east coast. We're in the midwest, and my old man has since retired plus the runner he used died so he doesn't know if the local one is even still going. He just got reminiscent when we were talking about sports betting (I think he's still jealous of his coworker who had a bag of $30k in cash dropped off at his door when he won).

JJ, why don't you start and SBR one up. We'll do it with BetPoints instead :P

5 Dimes has a Lottery, on top of the page.. not to be confused with its "Lotto"
which is only a prop. Haven't looked at in a long time.

You know the numbers game predates state lottos by decades/centuries.

I know they do Pick 3/Pick 4, but wasn't interested in that, was looking more for the game similar to the one my dad was playing.

Although with the Pick 3/Pick 4, I could probably make money standing at the corner gas stations and offering 600/6000-1 payouts to those who like to come in and play a gazillion combinations for them and their relatives. When/if one of their numbers hits, pay them the 600/6000 and pocket the 300/3000.

i'm afraid you are 55 years behind the curve on this. today's lottery player would never trust anyone enough to invest in a large payout lottery scheme like that.
