Severino was supposed to start.

Thinking maybe they hold him off a few days to set up normal rest for wild card game??

But only 1.5 games up for home game and if they wanted he could pitch 2 of the final 7 games and be set up for a potential game 1 of ALDS...

Their Twitter account shows that Holder is starting. No explanation given.

Bullpen game tonight and maybe Sonny Gray tomorrow (speculation on my part).

That would line up Severino-Tanaka-Happ for Wed-Thu-Fri, and then Boone would choose one of them for wild card next Wednesday.

I just flat out disagree with that decision.

They need that game to be at home and should feel good about any one of those guys starting the game.

Why risk potentially blowing home field when they don't even know who they want to start that wild card game?

Because having your rotation set is more important than HF.

I wonder if this means he will start again Sunday, lining him up for potential ALDS Game 1 next Friday? That would mean choice for Wild Card Game would be Tanaka or Happ.
