that is why I have always preached on this forum to take the damn points when playing dawgs!.......too many people try to get cute by playing the ML with Dawgs and it's just not worth it...nothing rigged about it...Leach played for the tie instead of the win and it came back to bite him in the ass...I took the (+4.5) so I was elated when he missed the FG...it guaranteed a lock with the spread...had the game gone into overtime, there would have been a good possibility that USC scores a TD and Wazzu backers would have lost.
