When To bet and what to read
When do you place your bets for nfl? If you are taking favs do you place early and dogs later in week?

I’m new to this site, where can I find some threads on what people are thinking and betting on nfl?

    Thanks in advanve

Well that's an open ended question. The thing bettors need to do is determine which way they think the line will move and act accordingly. The one thing bettors strive for, or should, is to get the best possible number which is not easy to do. You will need to find out which way the bets and money are flowing and whether or not sharp action is pushing the line or the public is pushing the line. There is some data out there that may help you with this but it is not an exact science as things can turn quick.

One of our posters KVB can help with some of this but you'll need to do a lot of this on your own by watching line movements and then determine what you think they mean and why it moved.

      Best of luck.

        Good post Ranger

If you can successfully predict line movements you have a big edge

Friday's are the best time imo.
Weather and injury reports are in, and those are the major factors you should consider.

If you wait till Sunday morning, you are letting the public sway you.

Guys that bet Tuesday, are guys that have a certain game they have looked at 2 weeks+, before the next game.

Short answer: Friday evening is the best time to wager, imo

All good points - I have a short attention span so I make decisions on Friday night. Injury reports and weather are reliable then. Regarding weather, I mainly look at wind conditions for O/U plays.

Chadder, all you need is confidence, pal!

Walk into the fukkin book like you own the fukkin thing. And then fire on all the games that look good!
