They don't. And even if they would, Lions don't have the players on the DL to take full adventage of that weakness.

Agree with the Jets hanging in this one, only I don't think they do it with defense but with offense rather. Lions front 7 is awful and Darnold is as ready as a rookie QB can be.

Liking 2daBank's idea for the over. As he said, Jets have some good skill position players that are flying under the radar. But most importantly, neither team can rush the passer.

I think it makes the most sense (especially if you like the jets), I guess my biggest worry would be I’m not 100% what lions will be like under fat Matt! We know their personnel and what they all do best, will this coach embrace that or is he gonna try and be boring on offense in attempt to help the d?? All we can do is speculate and imo I think both teams have the weapons and trigger men to put up points w the added bonus that both these qbs have that gunslinger in them and will throw a pick that puts their team behind, which in turn leads to having to throw more to make up for it!!

This the one area I’m not sure about (imo oline is one thing that takes several weeks of the new season to truly cap as oline play is as much about coaching, fortitude, and cohesiveness as it is about raw individual talent) and if you correct certainly could hurt their output. However you also said they have worst weapons and I know that is inaccurate, so how am I to know or believe your take on the Oline?

Even if you correct all that gonna do is force a few Darnold mistakes that could lead to more points and also force them to throw more.. bottom line here is unless both teams come out w total conservative dogshit game plans there no way in hell jets don’t double those 10 points you saying they will score.

I agree with that, just think that the one place it takes few weeks to cap well.. the skill positions fairly easy to cap already,,, how a oline gels and plays together something that can change drastically for better or worse from one season to next with minimal changes or wholesale changes. Like i said, coaching, fortitude, cohesiveness often more important than actual “talent”, playing oline comes down to want to more than skill everywhere but left tackle and even that position often times can be helped with scheme/coaching.

Well since you preach about that trenches capping, could you enlighten us where do the Lions have that big of an edge? Because I don't see it.

They are not going to run the ball. They are struggling with it for some time now. Their interior OL fails to run block time and time again. McLendon and Pennel are two huge run struffers. Leonard Williams is a beast. And rookie Nathan Shepard shows great promise, winning the starting job right away. I don't like Taylor Decker as LT that much. He's a liability, but Jets simply doesnt have anybody on the edge who could exploit that. So, they will probably be able to form the pocket for Stafford and pass the ball a bit.

On the other side, Lions have nobody on that DL beside Ansah. And it's obvious by performaneces of their entire defense that he can't make it happen alone. They released Zettel who was their second best DE and A'Shawn Robinson is inactive. Jets O-line doesn't have big names, but it's a solid unit that can stand their ground in both run and pass.

I think that when we look at it both ways, it's a pretty similar situation and there might be slight edge one way or the other, but nothing significant to point towards Lions win by 24
