Womens Final: Serena vs Osaka (How do you handicap this)

Here is a motherfukker of a handicap.

Before I started looking into it I was thinking, "oh Serena -500 or something vs this 20 year old" and then I see the line and it is only like -280......

But then I see....

Played one time and Osaka blew Serena off the court 6-3 6-2 in Miami.

Osaka idolizes Serena I am sure (her dad is black/Haitian and mom is Japanese). She grew up mainly in the US.


Obviously I would think Serena wins here, but that previous result has me all fukked up.
Confidence is a hell of thing in tennis, but how do you beat your idol in your first ever grand slam final?


You look at Serena vs Sloane Stephens:
Serena won the 1st match. Sloane won the 2nd match in the quaterfinals in the Australian Open. Serena has won the next 4 matches they have played.

You look at Serena vs Madison Keys:
Serena has won all 3 times they have played.

The US Open means a bit more to Serena than the Miami Open so that result doesn’t mean much. Especially considering it was her 2nd tourney back from pregnancy. Having said that Osaka has been unbreakable and returns like a machine so there’s no way I’d lay juice against her form right now. Dog gamble or no play imo.

If Serena plays like she did in the Semis she wins. Not a lot of errors. But she can spray the ball in spurts and against Osaka that will be costly. Osaka gets everything she is supposed to get back, and fairly deep. Her first serve is very good, but her second is not. Serena can pound her second serve, but she needs to cut down on errors.

For me, a pass. The line is good here.
