I would hope that's why colleges hire on black coaches because they give them the best chance to win.

Taggert was hired for one reason... He can recruit the shit out of the state of Florida. No one can recruit the state as well as he can. Now can he actually coach? He's shown to turn programs around (didn't have a lot of time at Oregon) but it's always because he was able to recruit better players than the opposing teams at lower tiered programs. We'll soon see if he can keep up with the big boys. I sure hope not as a Gator fan. Hope he crashes and burns a slow death.

All mid tier programs except penn state i guess Oregon? after chip left that programs been on a major decline ....with the exception of penn state and Oregon which has limited in state talent most of those arent exactly the schools top talent are looking to go to.

so failure is an option.

To be fair to Lovie Dovie, Illinois has had a dismal program for a while now. Really is a disgrace whoever is running the athletic department at Illinois. No reason at all that they should be this bad at football.

Taggart had a top 10 draft pick in Herbert at Oregon, when he was hurt they couldn't score. Florida didn't need Taggart to recruit...questionable hire. Thank you for taking him.
