#181It's called Title IX. Any school that receives any federal monies (ie student loans) have to report any and all incidents involving sexual misconduct or abuse for it to be investigated by the school. Which means that both Mr. and Mrs. Urban Meyer did not uphold their school's regulations. She is an employee as well.Comment -

Having knowledge that one of your staff has shown a long time pattern of domestic disturbance/violence incidents is just flat out bad. You can not condone him and expect all your players to not be aware he is being given a pass. No way in hell his wife never discussed it with him. Where has Meyer ever actually taken ownership for anything under his watch at any of his jobs? If it didn’t get out, Smith and him stay on..business as usual.
A college head coach has to win as well as teach teenagers to become good citizens, students and players. He has failed on the 2nd part.
He will be an interesting fit on sideline in a place like Den, Dallas, Hou, Cleveland or Washington next season. He can win at any level. At the NFL level he just has to do that one thing.
Special consultant in NE during season is possible to get him familiar with NFL .Comment -

#185Who the fukk wants a coach who has a huge impact on their kid becoming an adult knowing they sweep beating the shit out of women under the rug ?
This isn't about just Title IX , there's a right and wrong in everything in life . There's consequences for being wrong , beating up a defenseless women has consequences, knowing about it , yet doing nothing also has said consequences.
Fukk him for sitting there and not jumping in to stop it . Turning a blind eye to it , just as bad knowing you can make it stop by firing his sorry ass earlier , you have the power to support making it stop .
I have experience with this to the point of throwing hands with my father over it , 12 years old fighting a 41 year old drunk ass man . Hell I've got in a fight over seeing a guy hit a girl I didn't even know them . Fukk anyone beating up on a women .
The Ex left for a reason yet it continued on until the secret was no longer a secret . Meyer put friendship and team before right or wrong . Now it's time to pay for it .Comment -

#189the entire landscape of collegiate sports as a huge business will be entirely over hauled in our lifetimes. Maybe in next 15-20 years even.
too many things to cover up from kids and meat head coaches and goof ball richie rich alumni donors and its become impossible in this era of social media reporting, people/media digging to find and expose treachery under every stone.
too much $ and power to be had, trading on 18-22 testosterone laden kids making bad decisions in the midst of new found "celebrity", partying on drugs and alcohol looking for sex ect.
Coaches trying to make a name for themselves and keep their program untarnished have zero desire to NOT try to sweep everything under carpet.
Program administrators and donors wanting the $ from increased winning and media will find ways to channell $, sex, gifts, and whatever to potential recruits While protecting their assets from scandal.
even if it means a few kids get diddled in shower rooms, gymnastics probed by a sicko doctor, a good coach with a nasty temper with wife protected, a talented athlete having sexual assault and rape allegations covered up ect ect.
won't be too many more Baylor, PSU, Michigan type scandals to be swallowed by the younger generation that is taking over for the 50-70 year old men that are in control now.
NCAA needs to adapt and fast if they hope to not get taken over in a coupComment -

#193I don't think Ohio State should get punished for what a coach and head coach did to cover up misdeeds. OSU did not gain a competitive advantage, so there should be zero sanctions. This is about morality not football. The WR coach should have been fired when he was at Florida. Well it took a while but he's gone now. I don't think Meyer should be fired. He made a mistake, a bad mistake but fine him, suspend him a few games and move on. Probation? Hell no. That punishes too many people that had nothing to do with this bullshit.Comment -
