#42That's the thing though, they have a couple of prospects to spare. If they don't move them, they could end up losing them in the Rule 5 draft. Archer would raise attendance in San Diego. I hope the Padres resign Freddy Galvis but I know Tatis Jr. is on his way up.Originally posted by JAKEPEAVY21I really hope the padres don't trade for him. They are still 2-3 years away. I don't think now is the time to be trading prospects, maybe a year or 2 down the line. Keep stockpiling the farm system and make your moves when you are on the cusp.Comment -

#46I'm a huge Chris Archer mark. I don't think he's regressing. The issue with the Rays is that as soon as Kevin Kiermaier gets hurt (example: these past 2 seasons) team goes downhill. Like any other team the bullpen has blown leads I remember a game a while back where he was facing the Blue Jays and had a solid 6 or 7 innings and then the pen lost the game.Originally posted by The GiantIsn't this what Tampa Bay does? I'm pretty sure they bought out a few of Longoria's controlled years, too.
Is he regressing? His last three years his ERA is all north of 4. Maybe he needs a new environment, who knows.Comment -

#49I am a Rays/Cubs fan (family in TB)...there is virtually nobody at the games other than the other team's fans usually
Ownership are cheap fukks but run a good farm system
Bring the Rays to Indy

#54Archer would not raise attendance. He is not an ace. He has good stuff but has really never put it together.Originally posted by Hugh MadbroughThat's the thing though, they have a couple of prospects to spare. I agree about Galvis. I can't remember any other Padres SS in recent history that is as steady on defense...he makes all the plays he's supposed to make. I'm hoping Tatis agrees to play 3rd for a few years to make signing Galvis possible.Comment -

#61I would attend every Chris Archer start. lol. I could probably see the Padres getting rid of Asuaje. He let a ball go right past him and then struck out with the bases loaded. Asuaje has lived up to his potential but he's still young. Padres are getting interesting.Originally posted by JAKEPEAVY21Archer would not raise attendance. He is not an ace. #62I don't know what the Dodgers are doing. Dozier seems like overkill at this point. They have a surplus of hitting.
With Dozier playing second, that means one of these guys can't play: Bellinger, Kemp, Taylor, Puig.Comment -
