Doesn't matter. This delay favors Nadal 100%. Dude is coming off of a physical 5-hr match with Delpo and was getting bullied all day from Novak. If Djoker didn't waste so many chances, Nadal wouldn't have won the 2nd set either. Djoker would have won it in 4 had this delay not happened.

LOL not a chance. Nadal is coming off a 5-hr match with Delpo and is injury prone. He knows that the layoff favors him, as it always does in every situation it happened, just like with Zverev and with Schwartzman.

Wrong. Rafa will want the roof open while Novak will insist on it being closed. Roof closed always favors Rafa's opponents while an open roof favors Nadal with his top spin. Nadal historically hates when the roof is closed and he's not a good indoor player.

I still find it unbelievable they couldn't start play earlier today. Do these tournament directors even realize who Isner and Anderson are?

Two questions:

Will the roof be opened or closed tomorrow afternoon when they resume? Who makes the decision?

Was semifinal schedule known beforehand? During R16 or QF stage, do players know if they get to play the early or late slate on SF Friday? Or was starting time determined by a random draw after QF ended?

The roof will be closed tomorrow. In order for any conditions to change, both players have to agree to it and Novak isn't going to agree to an open roof.

No player knows what time they play until late the night before. The decision as to who plays at what court and at what time is made by the tournament director based on what he thinks brings the best ticket sales and ratings.

Announcers talked about 11pm London time curfew during the first set of the match. Unless match ends in 3 sets there was zero chance of finishing it today.

I wonder what the players think about the possibility of this scenario happening. I think everybody knows about the possibility of weather delays or darkness delays so you will not see any complaining from the winner of Djokovic/Nadal. They still get 24+ hours to recuperate.

Nope, the people from tonight don't get to watch the game tomorrow. Ticket sales at tennis events are done for each court for the day. So you don't buy tickets for individual matches - you buy them for a specific court on a given day. So the people who have tickets for Centre Court on Saturday will get to watch the resumption of Nadal/Djoker as well as Serena/Kerber. The people from tonight are shit out of luck and will have to purchase tickets for tomorrow.

The real funny part is that they’re playing at a stadium with 100 courts, when a match is running 77 hours long and you’re running so late you’re going to change days of events, start them on another damn court. They’re big boys both having to adjust to the same court they can figure it out.

Otherwise get rid of the damn needing to win by 2 games in final set. It’s boring. Tiebreakers way more exciting for the fans.

This is mostly correct but incorrect regarding a game that was delayed. Those fans can come back and watch in their same seats. Then they shuffle out for the Williams match. It’s one of the main reasons they don’t start the second match on a second court at same time

Djoko still could play for 10 years on a great tennis level, a federer is an example how far humans could go. Expect unexpected or dont make conclusions before the event finished. Althought we are gamblers and we specify in that, but no one hits it all.
