The most underrated defensive performance in superbowl history.Raiders vs Skins SB 18
I wasn't even born yet, but this raiders team rarely gets talked about. Not a fan of either team, but WOW!!! What a flawless defensive performance. Great to see how everything was broken down. And the skins were 3 point favorites.

Everything goes into depth at 6:50 mark. Just beautiful

Skins came into this superbowl with more points that season than any other team in NFL history.

The all pro center Jeff Bostic got completely overpowered at the line.

Joe Thiesman who was so cool, calm and collective the entire season torching defenses left and right, but was running for his life the entire game as his line kept collapsing.

Charlie Brown and Art Monk were among the top in receiving yards that season and both got straight punked at the line. Neither one of them caught a single pass in the first half of the game.

Riggins was completely shut down with only 64 yards in 26 carries.

And to top if off, Marcus Allens amazing run at 17:30 and finished the game with 191 yards rushing.

I love watching historical shyt like this.

BigBiz, this is one of the great Super Bowls ever. Nice post.

I never liked Theismann, b/c he talked too much. Watch the end of the 1H. Best hi-lite ever:

      * Raiders Def Coordinator subs in pass-coverage specialist Jack Squirek (for Matt Millen). Skins had run a screen-pass to Joe Washington in similar situation during the regular-season game. On a hunch, Raiders thought he might run it again.

He did. And Raiders caught em. TD Squirek, as he practically catches it in the endzone.

100 years from now, after we're all dead + gone...they'll still remember Jack Squirek.

What a roster. Sadly, some have passed on: Todd Christensen, Lyle Alzado, Al Davis.

The most important play of the game was the blocked punt. Without that, Gibbs wouldn't have called the ill-fated screen pass and the halftime score would've been 7-3 instead of 21-3. The Redskins' offense revolved around Riggins and once they fell way behind it was over.
