Peyton Manning. Never saw a player do more with less talent, player or coaching wise. It can be debatable that we might have never held Tom Brady or Joe Montana in the esteem we do now without them having Bill Belichick and Bill Walsh respectively. Manning was consistent, no matter who the coach, or the talent around him was. Manning's importance showed in the era between him and Andrew Luck. The Colts had no leadership on the field, or true direction.

The fact that Peyton was able to come back from a serious injury, and become the only starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two different teams shows his perseverance and true competitiveness. How many times did you NOT see him looking at overhead photos of formations on the sideline while the defense was on the field? The man was always locked in. He was a better coach on the field than the head coach on the sidelines.

He's picked as the best player, ever, for the Colts. Not bad, huh?

2. Barry Sanders - Would be NFL's all-time rusher if he hadn't retired. We've yet to see a player as exciting or who single-handedly made defenses look foolish. The Michael Jordan of RB's.

There is no doubt about this! He also had the intelligence to leave while on top and save that body from long term pain.
Add; one of the very best black leaders they have ever had, too. He gives a lot of his free time to support black youths. More than any so-called--black-leaders of our last 25/30 years. Maybe the best and as good as MLK?
