#3Had high 700s before my sentence. 2 years of not being able to be free and pay your debts is costly. 5 collection accounts, already settled 2 of them. Should be good to go by the end of the year again.
Working with the creditors directly is key. They've been understanding of my situation, especially since I reached them directly. From there you can negotiate a settlement instead of dealing with slimy collection agencies.Comment -

#17Not always.
I've had huge cash positions and still took on debt. The purpose of the debt earned more than the cost, and so did the cash.
Even MSFT, with a ton of cash, carried some debt.
But if you are just borrowing to live above your means, then it goes bad.Comment -

#19Debt can actually be the cheapest form of financing when making a major purchase (I'm not talking putting a balance on a 15% CC and keeping a balance) than paying cash. If I finance a car when they have those year end sales sub-2% and can take the cash I would otherwise have used and invested it in something earning 5%, I'm ahead 3%. If I pay cash, that's lost investment opportunity I would've otherwise had if I instead financed the purchase.Comment -

#30Perfect credit over here.. It's overrated though unless you're buying a first home and trying to get a loan and or leasing a new car which are both usually bad investments.. ************ get people in trouble, it allows free spending which is not a good thing for most..
Best for you to leave those cards at home and pay cash for everything I say...Comment -

#32Nice to have but look at all that interest you pay over the 30 year loan.. Look at all the repair costs along the way..
Hey but if you bought it in a good location and the home value increased over the years and you eventually pay off that loan then it becomes a good investment..
Homes are fun if you have a family though and I get it... Pride of ownership.. Moving up in the world. Got one myself... My take anyways..Comment -
