P.S. Whoever decided to start these tourneys at 11am is a dick. Locked and loaded now but had to wake up at 8 after a night of Craps donations to Planet HollywoodComment -

#39Like I’d reveal that information and let you program a Razz bot that would crush me at every turn. Nice try Gums, nice try.

#41The Rio is such a bitch to get to plus I had Game 3 bets I wanted to get in since the plan was to still be playing during tip off which worked out. Made the dinner break but nursing a sad 4500 stack. Ran it up to almost 10k but lost 5k in a couple 300-600 stud8 hands right before dinner. Pat wheel on 5th street lost to runner flush that also quartered the low then my pat flush on 5th couldn’t qualify for low and got scooped by a full houseComment -

#43I drove back to LA last night, wish I would’ve checked this thread before now Chuckster, you’re on my short list of posters I’d actually meet in person. I busted the Horse about an hour after dinner then watched the Cavs choke away all 3 of my bets so decided to get out of town before I tilted away any more money. Not a profitable trip but I believe in the old saying the worst day of gambling is still better than the best day of working.
Good luck in the 6 max ChuckComment -

#51Jean Robert Bellande won his maiden bracelet last night in the 5k 6 handed NL event to the tune of $616k. I was watching the final table for a bit on Twitch last night and the players were playing fast and rarely tanking, it was enjoyable to watch and I'm happy for JRB, he is a good dude.

I used to not really like Bellande but he seems like a genuinely nice guy and is a breath of fresh air in today's day and age of poker with all the hoodies, headphones and lack of table talk.Comment -

I played like 6 smaller events this year (one small cash and two near the money bad beats...) and it is definitely a grind.Comment -

#57on the stream the commentators were initially saying it was a 5k bottle of wine but then I read afterwards it was a $400 bottle.

he always seems friendly to me. i hated him his first 5 appearances on tv but then yea he grew on me
always seems very genuine
i dont blame people for not wanting a camera shoved in their face but bellande and matusow have been the best while many others are not very good.....if it was a fukkin espn camera im sure everyone would put on their best show, but dnegs with a camera, who they see all the time, i feel it is closer to how they actually act.Comment -

#58some guy went out the very 1st hand of the tournament on a straight draw,
Ramdin Doubles in His First Hand
In the very first hand off the deck for Victor Ramdin a player raised to 400 from early position. Ramdin re-raised to 1,500 from the button and the original raiser called. They went heads-up to the flop and the player continued with a bet of 4,000.
Ramdin called and the dealer burned and turned the and the player led out with a bet of 13,000. Ramdin raised to 26,000 and with the action back on his opponent she moved all in for 44,500.
Ramdin snap called turning over for top set and his opponent showed for an open ended straight draw. The river card sealed the deal for Ramdin who earned the double up and the knockout.

#64Since the World Series of PokerMain Event went to three starting flights in 2012, Day 1c has traditionally hosted the biggest turnout. With the July 4 weekend coinciding with Day 1c this year and larger-than-usual turnouts on Day 1a (925) and Day 1b (2,378), some wondered if Day 1c would be as massive as usual.
As it turned out, a record field showed up at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, packing the halls and the tournament areas like never before.
The 4,571 runners who came out for Day 1c made it the biggest single flight in the history of the WSOP since organizers began divvying up the field into more than one starting day. Combined with the Day 1a and Day 1b numbers, that pushed the total field to 7,874, making it the second-biggest Main Event ever, behind only 2006's 8,773 entrants. It's nearly a 10 percent increase over the 7,221 who showed up last year.
The total prize pool came out to $74,015,600, and this year's world champion will claim a first-place prize of $8.8 million.Comment -

#67Below is a perfect example of how hard it is to hit the big one even if you are playing your cards right you still have to dodge the Jackasses/Donkeys/badplayers/ETC. that lucked their way thus far into the tournament.
Here I will tell you what happened: I was four positions behind the big blind and everybody before me folded I had an ACE QUEEN suited the blinds were I believe $30,000 and $60,000 so i did the norm and raised to $180,000 everybody folded except the big blind he called me flop came ACE FOUR QUEEN three different suits so flush or strait draw odds were slim to none he bet $360,000 i raised to $780,000 he called turn came EIGHT he checked I went all in which was only about $280,000 more he called (mmmm.
note his stack was only about 200 thou larger than mine at the beginning of the hand. HERE COMES THE RIVER it's a FOUR. I know you want to know what the jackass had right? Okay you ready? It was a blank --- blankety blanking THREE FOUR OFF F---ING SUIT!
223 - 11 tourny fee
divided by 9.5 =$22.31 per. hr. that's a crappy investment in my book for the hell you have to go threw. So what if i outlasted over 31,800 players shitty reward for doing so ain't it?

#70Was down to 17k early on but spun it up to 80k. Then the TD announced 5 more hands to be played for the night. I open 44 in MP and button flats. Flop comes J42hh I bet 2200 button makes it 6000 and I call. Turn 8c and I check raise him all in for his remaining 42k ish. He takes a minute to call off and shows AJhh. River comes heart and I bag 20.6k for Day 2 tomorrow. If I can run it back to the 80k I had before then before Day 2 ends I should still be okay. Certainly not going to play tight and "find my spot". Ill make my spot by pushing around early and often. I hope to pick up a few small pots early so when/if I do find a double its not off a very small stack.Comment
