They have more than a couple AA-level minor league players on the roster to fill-in gaps. Catcher Wellington Castillo was suspended for PEDs....remember they acquired him as an experienced catcher to handle and help a very young pitching staff. And now he's gone.

Chi Sox don't have the talent to compete. Occasionally, they can be dangerous aggressive on offense just because they have nothing to lose. But try them against the other crappy teams only.
