Last years NBA Finals averaged 21 million viewers. That was average. NBA ratings are up 30% across the board this year. I expect even higher viewers this year. Maybe 23 million viewers. If you count international viewership, the NBA is kicking ass right now. It's becoming THE international sport of choice, next to soccer. It's happening whether you like it or not.

By comparison the Super Bowl had 106 million viewers but don't forget that that's just 1 game whereas the NBA Finals could go 4, 5, 6 or 7. So the numbers could be higher in total.

China brings in tens of millions of viewers and that in turn attracts hundreds of millions in ad revenue and marketing

The people in China don't even know the rules of basketball or what a pass is and they don't care. They only care about the stars and that's why the nba has become a star driven league

That's where the $$ comes from and they have more of it as well as people than anyone else in the world

NBA is REALLY big in the Philippines also.. They know the sport and mostly all kids grow up playing basketball in local play grounds.. That's one Asian Country that loves hoop!!!
