Every year, the NBA has 2 days off during the conference finals. This year it is tonight and tomorrow. Western Conference has same break of 3 days off, last playing last night (Wednesday) with next game Sunday.

Guess this guy never heard less is more? And they do this shit every year - maybe you would watch it every other day? Casual sports fans won’t - they crunch the numbers and ratings are better when games are 2-3 days spread - nothing beats BUILD UPS

Why would I want to bet against Lebron and the Cavs coming back home in game 3? If the Cavs are ever going to win a game in this series it would be game 3 coming back home after a long rest. Celtics are a bit suspect away from home also...

Why am I not surprised you went with 'the lazy answer'?

Of course they want a game on the weekend (Saturday). They'd get it either way, but why would they prefer the other game on a Monday instead of tonight (Thursday)?

It's May already--Thursday is the new Friday.

100% agree and Silver should know better.

Game 3 should have been played tonight. Sat is crazy.

There is no reason not to shorten regular season to say 70-72 games. Start the season at Christmas instead of Oct. Season could end mid July. Less head to head with football too. Tv ratings are already on upswing and future revenue streams will only increase team earnings and values significantly. The salary cap will go up too which could allow teams to hold onto their own guys. There are a ton of young players who can become stars. Get Seattle and Las Vegas teams within the next 3-5 years as well. Either expansion or a team like clips, mem or char relocate. If they league and player assoc put proper resources into the g league, the quality of basketball we see will improve. Young kids will get minutes to develop instead of end of bench all the time.
