However, the line didn’t settle for long as more breaking injury news — regarding Cincinnati’s Eugenio Suarez — broke at 1:17 p.m. ET. Suarez was scratched due to a sore ankle, moving the line up to Reds +143, close to where it sat before Votto’s status started this betting market roller coaster.

Votto moved to probable with the back injury and Suarez moved to doubtful with the ankle.

I have these announcements being just under 40 minutes apart, making it a wash with line movement but it did increase the books handle on the game.

As I type this I see Range's post and that's basically what Sports insights is saying.

Suarez was scratched from the lineup after Votto was confirmed fit to play. With both of them not in the lineup, it was adjusted a half run.

with E.Suarez batting .297 on the season overall, and .458 against lefties (Giants starter A.Suarez is LHP), I guess it makes sense.

Was thinking because of homeplate ump Doug Eddings who is 1-6 o/u on this season, but that shoulda been factored in to begin with.

13 MPH wind blowing straight to CF in that stadium has a 58% Over rate on the total. I don't think they even considered the umpires O/U record being it was not a big sample.

well yes about the wind, plus these two starting pitchers, I was very surprised to see the total offered drop to 8.... consensus betting numbers showed people were all on the Over 8.5 to begin with....so why drop it even with E.Suarez out of the lineup?? too mechanical / computerized

These guys are all about adjusting when lineups change. It was the right adjustment I think, a half run. If they don't, they could take on too much water (money) on the other side.
