crazy? it's selfish, rude and mean to invite anyone who isn't a close friend or relative to a dumbass wedding. it costs money, time and inconvenience to attend one of these charades. you need to dress up, buy a present or give cash (preferred) go to some phoney baloney church (which most skip) show up at reception, eat lousy meal, have to be nice to people. ruins your whole day. 50% chance marriage will fail anyway or higher. all suspect they were invited to get them to give a present. most who get invitation in mail groan an moan but they go to save face.

be on the lookout for crashers of the wedding variety. corbins syndicate (Butane Network) took weddings in 2014 to the tune of 22.7k in giftcards.

another tip jj gave me. swipe some obscure gift cards (like 6 flags) where you know won't be used and just sit in a file cabinet for years. obviously don't worry about loading them at cashier. did this with 3 bosses at christmas party and wound up getting promoted because of it
