He didnt know when exactly she was referring to. This isnt a situation the coach is gonna say dont foul, it was only one guy near the rebounder nobody else remotely close and the guy closest didnt foul, other players were looking his way but once they saw he didnt gonna foul they started walking up the court. All of those seem likely and the assistant was saying foul you can see him jump up in disgust and turn around after the player didnt foul. One player decided not to foul and for whatever reason people pretend that was the entire team's strategy from the head coach on down.
