Re-read my arguments. I was just pointing out that he isn't a lock based on SS history, the evolution of the position and the previous, hall worthy, TEs being left behind.

Factor that he has 0 accomplishments beyond catches (no rings, equal or less pro bowls, losing seasons 75% of career, etc) and you're left to wonder..... why do you like his career so much or his HOF crews?

Gates revolutionized the position. Basketball guys started realizing they could dominate in the red zone. Gates is an absolute 100% lock for the Hall. Gates was an offensive juggernaut and prob won half the writers' fantasy football leagues for many of them on his back. To put Witten above Gates is silly.
