Far from a stud. 10mil per year for an okay, off the ball linebacker is crazy. He might be a better fit as a strong side backer in a Giants 4-3 defense, rather then playing Mike in 3-4 that Rams ran. But still overrated..

Great players go to the giants to get big contracts and underperform, don't see this trade making any difference. Does anyone honestly believe the giants will win more than 5 or 6 games this year?

As a Rams fan i'm pleased with the trade. He wasn't a fit in our 3-4 defense and whilst he was better in the 4-3 he wasn't worth $10M.

Agreed. The Rams are retooling their defense from the old 4-3 to a 3-4, and getting rid of a lot of unnecessary baggage on the way. This is how you retool a defense. Get rid of the players that you do not need instead of keeping them and forcing them to play a position which they are not good at.

double overpaid. In terms of salary and what Giants gave up to get him. Rams were eager to offload his contract anyway, because he wasn't playing good in new scheme. 4th and 6th was too much.
And I've heard there is a possibility that Giants are also switching to 3-4. If that is true, this signing gets strange on a whole another level.

Yeah. I don't know why they don't get a more prototypical nose tackle, that will clog the middle. With Donald you get all the interior rush you need, so they could put a run stopping specialist next to him instead of Brockers. Someone like Justin Ellis maybe, who will be free agent in couple of days.
