By looks of the play by play

        Ville was up 4
Decided to foul with 2 seconds left, UVA hits both
Ville turns it over on the inbounds
UVA hit a 3 for the win

Bye bye any chance of dancing for the cards.

No. They didn't decide to foul. Guy was fouled while shooting a 3 at 0.9 seconds. If they back off it looked like the clock would have gone to 0 or very close even if the 3 went in (and I doubt it would have).

Why would anyone decide to foul up 4 with 2 seconds left. Never ever.

D2Bets is correct. The announcers kept saying he meant to foul which made zero sense and never attempted to correct themselves. Although the block looked clean, as D2 said If Louisville backs off at most there would have been .2 left if he made the three. This would have given Virginia no chance to win, the video is a must watch. It’s shocking to see. The UL player inbounding the ball that got called for the travel, you see the ref point twice to the ground advising him he can’t move, he gets the ball, and takes 3/4 steps to the left for the travel. Truly amazing.

Yeah, even on the inbounds, all the guy had to do was throw it to the other side of the court, someone touches it and it's over. Stupid compounding stupid.

It was so easy for LV!

                    1) Up by 4, let the guy shoot an uncontested 3 with literally no time left & you win!

                    2) With .9 seconds left, simply inbound the ball anywhere away from your basket, the clock expires & you win!

Honestly, I've never seen anything quite like it. Almost impossible to lose that game but the Cards found a way!

Wow. When I watch Cards this season, Padgett looks lost at times.

I actually hope so. Nobody is giving them a chance in the tourney, and if you look at their past, they're right not to, but I'd like to see a team like that win it all.

That finish reminds me of Reggie winning vs the Knicks - overcame something stupid like 7 points in a few seconds - gave the "choke" to Spike Lee on the sidelines

Adel has to be the dumbest player in college basketball, and his coach is just as dumb.

There's 0.9 seconds left and you are inbounding the ball. Just heave it down to the other end of the court. There's a 1 in a million chance someone from Virginia would steal the ball and throw in a 70 footer with under a second left.

I bet on a ton of college basketball and these players/coaches are all stupid when it comes to end of the game. You got teams up by 3 points, who never foul and end up giving up the tying 3 point attempt. Then you get teams that are up by 4-5 points, and instead of guarding the 3 point line and conceding layups, you have them give up 3s which is the only way they can lose. I was heavily on Michigan and Wichita State live, and both of those teams instead of fouling (when up 3 and under 20 seconds left) instead let their opponents get off 3 point shots and they go in, and it goes to OT. Luckily each won in OT, but still it's way more stress than there needs to be.

It's aggravating if you are on the wrong side of it.

Just think there is some unlucky basturd who had everything he owned on louisville ml, needed it more then anything in the world, had to be counting his money and his blessings that god gave him his life back with this big louisville win an then that happens. Probably at least 1 suicide in the world because of that game.

Cannot recall a more "sure" victory in recent memory. It was so bizarre. The other crazy part of this was the free throws on the foul w .9 left. He made the first 2, missed on purpose and the ball bounced harmlessly away from any of the Cavs - game over? Nope - the ref called a lane violation which meant the clock never moved and LV had to inbound, and well, we all know the rest. Yet another weird thing that prolonged the game.
