Craigslist you can pick a used TV a couple years old for a few hundred bucks these days. They're always dirt cheap on Craigslist if you're broke..

Costco has very good prices on new TV's and Computers also.. They typically offer a $100 rebate on TV's and Computers on top of the already cheap prices... I bought my last laptop computer at Costco a few months ago and got a $100 rebate with that.. Couldn't find my current HP laptop computer cheaper any where else on line either.

Not a good idea to buy stolen stuff either... Ask for paper work or some sort if they have it... If they don't have the original remote or paper work it's probably stolen..

I've sold on Craigslist MANY times. Well, it was usually free shit I was giving away (old furniture or whatever). Total strangers to my home, they come inside my house to look at the shit I was selling/giving away. I've done this many times when moving to another house.

Never any problems.

Never got laid either.

I agree the friendly and talkative approach is always the best approach when buying or selling stuff.. Mostly people just want to sell their stuff and be done with it if they have there add out on craigslist... One less headache to deal with when they sell there stuff...

There are crooks out there on Craigslist but I don't think very many that you have to worry about..

If you actually CALL SONY with the serial number and the problem they will probably fix your TV for free under warranty or under a courtesy warranty extension. If this is a known issue with that model/brand they will likely cover it. I just had this happen with a new dryer that was technically out of warranty. You could also try and scam square trade.

I called Sony. The tv only had a 1 yr warranty.

I bought it April 2016.

I'm going to call a local repair shop tomorrow that I found that has great reviews. One if the reviewers even had the same exact problem that I am having with this POS Sony. I'll see what they will charge me for this.

Saw a 65 incher on Craigslist for $350. I dont have a truck though.
