0-1. Perfect time to bet 1x or lay Suwon at an exchange.

I am starting to believe in the make a thread and mush it jinx Alfa.

Hardly ever post picks outside motorsport season and am 0-3 if Sydney don't suddenly turn this around.

I was thinking about chasing the draw at +275 but not going to bother. Right now it feels like it will just end up 0-1 if I do LOL

Having turned on the game...I'm not sure how smart it was really. I don't see Sydney scoring.

This team was touted as faves to win this tourney for weeks.

And have just killed all Australian teams on this ground for years unbeaten.

Disappointing. Aussie soccer shown up as sub standard over and again. Asia just getting better faster than us.

Yep, from what I'm seeing here Blue Wings are toying with them. Sydney has 0 shots on target all game...

I've been generally dissapointed with Aussie players coming to Belgium over the years. Technique/stamina is good enough but they aren't used to playing a fast pace so most of them just don't make it. And the Belgian league isn't that great either...

Tim Cahill was one of my favorite players back in the day, but other then him there was really not so many great Aussie players that I can remember... I believe it's tough for soccer down under to attract talent in first place. You are competing against other sports that are very popular and the talent pool is not that big anyway.

It's the most popular sport for boys player wise by a long way. We should produce plenty of good players. And probably do ok really if you look at worldwide clubs. But all the good young players don't aspire to play A-League. They want to play in Europe.

And the national team is a bit hamstrung by Euro clubs not wanting to release them for a game against Singapore 14 hours flight away. So they only get together for the important pressure games and big tournaments.

Anyway, enough excuses. That really was a slap in the face wake up call when the dominant local club team looked just second rate against not even the best Korean team. And K-league not up there with J-League or the Chinese teams even really as far as I understand things.

wasn't aware of that. I thought that rugby and aussie rules are just as popular...

I've read somewhere that J-league gets more media exposure but was not as good as K-league. But that was couple of years ago and it's not really my area of expertise, so I don't know it that information is correct or not.

Rugby League and Rugby Union, and especially Aussie Rules, are more popular fanbase and tv viewing wise but as far as players Soccer takes it. Rugby Union not even in the top 10 as it's mostly a private school thing in the juniors.
