I really think someone needs to look into how much a vegan diet affects an elite athlete. One of the top Aussie footy players here - recently retired - said there'd be no way in hell any of them could complete all their endurance training let alone play at their peak if they were vegan and they were talking about how Kyrie's performance has dropped off since he changed his eating. Not sure if that's true but it'd be interesting to study that.
