I'm on record for 3%+ growth from the Trump Train. A good chance for 4% which the last year we saw that was probably before you were born(1999).
That would be 2.5x Obama's avg and 2x higher than even the CBO projects. Going to be sweet. Repubs and Dems celebrating on the Trump Train!Comment -

wait, are you sure about this? hmmm, I was positive, extremely positive that somehow or someway this recent drop in the market was caused by Obama and the D's. I am almost positive he had some hand in this. In fact, I thought I heard DT mention it. I may be wrong.Comment -

#227A bear market is a 20% decline. The S&P 500 market traded in bear territory on Oct 4th of 2011, but it rallied 4% in the last hour of trading, and therefore it was not a technical bear market.
In developed and emerging international markets there was a bear market 2014-q1 2016, but US markets haven’t seen a bear since the financial crisis.Comment -

Poor Roy always writing about what he THINKS is going to happen. Wasn't Roy one of the same individuals giving DT credit for the recent rise in the stock market. Yeah, I think so. He never mentioned once that Obama had a better first year stock market record than DT. That part he forgot about.
Our mr Roy is another guy that has problems with inconvenient facts, he will be one of the first to disappear in two or three years, because he still believes in trickle down. He is gone--watch.Comment -

#235Hillary made the case many times including the debates there was no reason to pursue growth, the country was fine the way it is. She had zero economic growth plans.
This is my favorite part about the Trump agenda. We all know Obama averaged 1.6% growth. The last 3 qtrs averaged 2.8%. But every quarter in '18 will be above 3%. That's the number we need to keep wages rising and brings billions more in to the treasury. We will revisit this after q1.
I am not gonna defend Hillary Clinton even though I know she did not say that.
Its funny you, just like Trump, think you can just say the words “3% growth” and it will magically happen.
I hope we get 3%, but the data says it is highly unlikely.Comment -

and for at least the 100th time he again proves that he knows nothing about everything. The subject doesn't matter, not at all. It today is economics, but it could easily be history, politics, religion, English, philosophy, psychology, any discipline at all. I have gone up and down dozens of subjects and this lad and his twin have no answers. They have a ton of comments, a bunch of BS like the above, they make statements like (5% GDP) but when asked to explain or clarify those comments...nothing, nothing at all.Comment -

economists on the left and right both agree that high yearly growth may be too much to ask in the relatively new world economic scene we are now witnessing. It is easy to say 4 and 5% growth and it would be nice but my money goes with the economists and not the dwighties and roys.Comment -

that is exactly what they do, they simply print what they hope and think might happen and when it doesn't they disappear. these people still buy into trickle down, they call it a different name now but it is the same exact philosophy.Comment -

Chuck Shumer claimed the CBO's 2% estimate was too high. That's scary. However, the jump in the wages number is a tell-tale sign. I think it's happening, 3+%.
One thing is for sure if we can get solid growth it will help both sides of the aisle.(the one thing we can agree on)Comment -

Close enough and safe to say we haven't had much of any real growth in a very long time.
dante, everyone that disagrees with you has a problem with the facts. Of course Trump is responsible for the market rise. The spike in wages is responsible for the pullback. Been constantly telling you since Moby Dick was a minnow we need rising wages. We just got the largest rise in wages in 9 years. So I would argue the plan is working perfectly so far.Comment -

One thing to look at when comparing the stock market performance under Obama and Trump is that Obama had QE 1, 2, 3, Operation Twist & record low interest rates. The reason we had QE 2, 3, & OT is because the economy and market performed so poorly without those things. If you take QE 2, 3, & OT and rumors of those programs out, the stock market actually declined under Obama. From 10-30-14, the first day since QE 3 ended until 11-08-16, the S&P returned 7.93%. Since 11-09-16, the S&P has risen 22.43%, with higher interest rates.Comment -

#245Good point on the artificial gains due to QE trickery.
Stocks are still expensive even with the backdrop of real growth. Even a great company like CAT is trading at over 12x 2021's estimated earnings. That's a lot of skin to grow into.Comment
