I've been both a staker and stakee for some small to medium stakes before black friday....say someone gets staked $220 for $4.40 180 man sit and gos on poker stars (not sure if they even still exist) and they see what the profit looks like after all 50 buy ins are complete.
A typical stake is staker incurs all risk and profit split is 50/50 AFTER MAKEUP. Makeup is any debt incurred from previous stakes not working out.
People have their own splits so I'd say whatever feels right for Sweeper and his buddies, but this was a typical stake with the people I dealt with.
I've never staked or have been staked for cash games.

So Friday night I'm feeling good about a long +$366 session.
Tonight I go back and lose $827
Flop a set of 10's, opponent nut str8. Flop another set of 10's, opponent flops a set of queens, river boats us both up to seal the deal. Guy I view as a fish raises to $15 I isolate to $45 he shoves $300 all in, I call think worst case scenario it's a flip. It isn't, he has aces - they hold.
Looking back I gave up $115 in an error on the one where he flopped the straight and the $300 on the QQ losing to AA was garbage as well.
So yes -$827 but that session should have been -$412.
Laying low until Wed/maybe Friday, do some non poker things and see if I can clear my head and be chill for the next session.Comment -
