Any special event is good! Glad you guys are planning something. Would not favor a huge buyin myself - will turn many people off from participating, should be something more aimed at general SBR population, like the last big special event we had (I think the Thanksgiving one) - something like that would be cool.

Only around 15 people have shown up for the 100 point 'high rollers' weekend tourney in the past.

The weekend rebuy tournament we used to have was more popular.

A monthly 500 or 1000 point buyin event might be good and work, but think we would need to have satellite events over the month leading up to it to ensure enough interest and starters.

I think it would be nice to have a variety of tournaments.

Maybe once a month have a 500-1000 point buyin deep stack tournament.

The old rebuy tournament on Sundays was great. It was a low buyin(20 or 30 something points) which created a larger field and the rebuys and add on made it a more wild and fun tournament while juicing up the prizepool.

I like the idea of bounty tournaments.

Maybe other forms of tournament poker as well once in awhile? (pot limit omaha, PLO8, mixed games etc etc)

$200-$250 should attract the most posters. $50 Bounty (added) on each would be great! Will play larger but not past 8:00.

the reason that weekend tourneys were successful in the past was the starting times.
the Saturday high-rollers was at 4pm ET, and the Sunday rebuy was at 5pm ET.
these starting times covered the west and midwest coast people, the east coast people, and the rest of the world people .

the current 11pm ET time, eliminates everyone on west & east coast that go out on a Saturday night plus everyone else with time differences that run in the middle of the night.
