Buck and Aikman reportedly will NOT be working the Thursday night games, FOX is not obligated to use their "A" team and reports are they don't intend to.

Unlike the previous deals, the NFL is not requiring Fox to use its top NFL broadcast and production team. That means Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will not be calling the games. The play-by-play assignment could logically go to Kevin Burkhardt, who is currently Fox’s No. 2 NFL announcer, or Gus Johnson, who currently is the top college announcer for Fox. Look for the same talent sharing agreement between the NFL Network and Fox Sports when it comes to the pregame show coverage.

Johnson was horrible doing NFL for CBS. Way too much screaming. That shtick plays OK during the NCAA tournament, but it gets old pretty quickly over the course of an entire season.

Joe Buck is simply a lucky sperm. Glad to hear that he will not be included on the TNF broadcasts. Anytime he is in the booth my remote is in auto-mute.

I was reading about a man named Al DeRogatis who was supposed to be the all-time great analyst/announcer. Hell, exhume his body and stuff him in the Thursday Night booth...He couldn't do any worse the the present day "stiffs" who's names are being bandied about.

He's a really good baseball guy, who I can't imagine doing football. He was the ring master for the MLB playoff panel with Frank Thomas, Pedro Martinez and others. He's way too calm for football.
