Always LA . He went to UC Santa Barbara though and started his show in S.Diego. Nifty 650 or some shit. You can tell I used to listen a lot. It was edgy and funny back then, now it really sucks balls.

I remember listening to Rome back in the late eighties and early nineties. I remember that "Rat family" or something that was pretty funny. Called into the show once and made it on and got through the call without getting run. Never really cared much for J-Stew who would screen the calls. T-Rodge was way cool to me always. Stopped listening when he went to CBS radio and forgot about what got him to stardom. A lot of guys jumped ship including T-Rodge when Rome thought it was all about him.

"Rat Family" was one of his better bits - athletes or coaches who resemble rats. The 2 main members were Coach K and Chris Collinsworth - can't argue with those choices! Then one day he says no one should rip someone's "personal appearance". Just like his Nascar deal - He would go off every Monday about the "left turn circuit". Then he starts having drivers on all the time, saying he's coming around to the sport. Like most of you said, it was a decent listen 15-20 years ago, but since then the guy is too Hollywood, especially with the show now on CBS-TV everyday.

They let Hacksaw on for 15 minutes a day and then make fun of him in the promos at 1090. It's kinda sad.

You forgetting the familiy's godfather Mike Shanahan. Nascar used to be Neckcar. It was fun back then. He used to name -gloss just about anybody who wouldn't do his show plus all the competition . I remember used to call " The fabulous sport's Babe " the Blob, Patrick Ewing was Dionne Warwick, Nutty Professor for Dennis Green, Bill 217. As soon as somebody agreed to be in the show the name calling stopped. It happened with Scotty Bowman who collected toy train models. By the way, do you wanna be my Latex salesman ?
