Word is Kidd got into it with Horst, the GM, at practice yesterday. Got heated and Kidd dropped a few F-bombs. That was the last straw for management who planned on canning him after the season. It had to be a pretty big blowup since they fired him about 3 hours before gametime. Could easily have done it on Sunday, an off day. It's Prunty for the rest of the season at least...

Yup you never hear about coaches getting fired before a game and on the same day, maybe after a game the same day or the next day after a horrible game

I reckon Jeff Van Gundy will be their next long-term coach. They have a big window to win a championship or 2 in the next 10 or so years and he's a big name. Don't like him myself but there you go.
