Chasing chalk gets you nowhere fast. Looking back on my most successful seasons, I was dialed into dogs and either hitting moneylines or the points, especially in college ball.

    Just a friendly reminder.

Like most gamblers, I start finding a false sense of security with BIG chalk after a losing streak. I need to become more comfortable with less winners and more money.

Yup and I love decent teams at home versus top 25.

Dogs should be at least 2/3 of your bets. Ok to take favorites sometimes if you've thought them through enough.

Keeping a sharp eye on the line moves, especially in this day of players being a late scratch because "he's not feeling right" "hammy tightened up" "twisted an ankle in warmups" bullshit. One day Embiid was doubtful all day, then ruled out at 5 pm, then tweeted that he was playing 20 minutes before game time. That line bounced all over the place in the last hour, ended up with the Sixers crushing the Pistons by 20, the -4 didn't mean squat. The last month before the playoffs you'll find LeBron doing the same crap.

I used to run a contest called 'Pick The Dog'.

For the NFL season, each player had to pick 25 Dogs plus points, and 25 ML Dogs.

There were some guys who would finish positive almost every year.

Agree both dogs and favorites are great wagers. Stick with low spreads and the team your looking at has a better record or equal. MLB is perfect for dog betting..
                            who let the dog??

Have done it for all 3 sports.

It forces you to think in a different way when looking over the games.
