His job is to guard him 20 yards and in. Once he gets pass him, he let's him go because he has help over the top. The safety cheated just a little inside (why?) and couldn't recover. Stupid... You hope that your DLine can put enough pressure that the QB won't have time but that QB looked off the safety and delivered a fukkin strike.

That was always one of the things about Kirby that drove me crazy when he was Bama's DC. He prefers to rush only 3 to 4 and drop everyone else in coverage.

Only partly true. In cover 2 the corner's first job is to jam the receiver off the line and them make him go inside. You cannot let the receiver go on a dead sprint up the field. Even if the safety played it correctly he might not get over there in time. Neither DB did their job. A complete utter collapse.
