Only reason btc and eth have taken off is people need it to speculate into altcoins.

Btc would crash and burn if you could buy directly into everything with usd $.

Who wants to pay $30 fees on this shit coin.

Just big whales trying to protect it.

Btc is slow and fees are too high, basically is less for anything.

If you're moving over $1000 it is still good. Anything under say a few hundred not worth it at all.

Though not sure where you get your $30 figure. $5-15 can still get your transaction confirmed in an hour or two.

I love it when a book sends you out a PO in BTC... and mysteriously they happened to send it out at it's peak for the day.

                  I can't win.

I mean... really... what are the odds they'd send out a PO above 14k? FML

I keep hearing this across SBR... is there any credibility to this statement / assumption? I googled it and couldn’t find anything on Wall St bonuses. Which companies issued bonuses today? How much? Is the market reflecting that they’re majorly investing it in cryptos?

                        A) Govt regulations have already occurred and didn’t kill btc.

                        B) Govt reg now will probably only do more to legitimize bitcoin as an investment and store of value.

Drops $1,100 within 10 hours after you receive a PO. lol You can't make this sh#$ up.

Clearly was hoping to receive the PO on the downswing..... and then go upswing. Not upswing to downswing.

How can you win with this BS.

What would be nice is to have books using a coin that had a 1-to-1 value with USD and didn't fluctuate.

Tether is that coin right now....but I'm not suggesting books should use Tether coin (its too sketchy).

The original utility of bitcoin seems to be non-existent as a method to QUICKLY transfer funds electronically with LOW FEES.

Segwit might improve transfer times. But back to the point. I'd rather have 1-to-1 USD, be able to count on its value, and be able to transfer the damn coin quickly.

And I'm NOT just saying this because BTC price is down. I've always just wanted an anonymous way to transfer the funds. Hopefully someone smarter than me can design a permanent solution.

There's nothing anonymous about any of these cryptos. All the exchanges ask for so much info and you have to deposit from somewhere.
                              The paper trail is endless.

You can make it all anonymous if you want. Open multiple accounts at exchanges and stay below verification limits.

The price is cratering today. Withing the last 24 hours it has been as high as $12,325 and it's now at $9,685.

Even though the price was $5,500 3 months ago, my concern is that books have been taking deposits for the NFL playoffs when the price was $14-20k and now might not be able to pay out post-Super Bowl if bitcoin keeps tanking.

The good books like heritage SHOULD be converting to a USD wallet as soon as taking deposits.. shittier books probably not... bitcoin books doesnt matter because the players are losing value while sitting in there

If they process payouts themselves they are still probably holding quite a bit of funds in bitcoin. It's not going to put a dent in the accounts of Heritage/Bookmaker type books but smaller ones if they were holding $500k in Bitcoin it may still be a sizeable hit to them.
