if your lawyer hasn't withdrawn from your case, it would behoove him to show up in court, and he might be there.... typically, once an attorney signs on and makes an appearance on your behalf, he has to have a court order permitting him to withdraw, which can generally only be granted if he's filed a motion to withdraw as counsel of record.
