Big difference between Christmas Eve and New Year' Eve night, there are lots of games across all leagues New Year's Eve. Maybe not so much this year with it falling on a Sunday night, but take a quick look at last year on New Year's Eve for NBA, NHL and College Hoops, not to mention bowl games. No that has nothing to do with it, there has always been Week 17 Sunday night games in past followed by afternoon playoffs following Saturday. There is no game worthy of the Sunday night slot this year. Normally that is reserved for the "do or die" division title on the line game which doesn't exist this season. Even if they moved the ATL-CAR game to Sunday night, if Saints win earlier then Panthers rest all players as they would be locked into 5-seed and have nothing to play forComment -
