Experience.. I over did in my 30's with drinking and got hooked, cravings subsided the longer I went sober... Today in my 40's I have this beast under control... Same with drug addicts longer you go sober the easier it gets..

The only problem is when shit hit's the fan in their lives they quickly lapse, they say fock it and go right back to the addiction of choice to ease the pain. They do this to ease the pain and forget their troubles and feel good... They then get hooked again and the vicious addiction cycle continues..

Same goes with compulsive gamblers that really have a problem with it... The itch is always there for them but it eases up over time the longer they go without betting.... I also have a very close friend that was a FULL BLOWN compulsive gambler.. Destroyed his life and GA and GOD saved him..
